Welcome to the website of award-winning Australian artist Harold Lane
Harold has spent most of his working life painting for one man exhibitions but now that he lives in retirement on Bribie Island, he is able to spend time painting for pleasure without watching the clock and calendar.
After a forty year career, he believes that one lifetime is not enough for the keen artist to satisfy the challenge which comes from attempting to portray a personal vision.
Harold was born in Sydney, New South Wales but spent his childhood in the Queensland bush. This gave him a love of countryside which you will see evident in his work. Until recently, he lived for some years in the beautiful
Fassifern Valley in South East Queensland, where the mountain ranges, lakes and creeks provided constant inspiration. His home is now a sub-tropical island, where it is possible to see the sun rise over the South Pacific Ocean
and at end of day, watch it set behind the Glasshouse Mountains, colouring the waters of the marine national park which is the Pumicestone Passage.
