Harold Lane has enjoyed a career in art for almost fifty years and during that time has exhibited at some of Australia's most prestigious galleries.
He has been commissioned by the Commonwealth Government and is included in collections in Britain, USA, Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand and in corporate
and private collections throughout Australia. He is represented in the Commonwealth Government collection, The Queensland Art Gallery and a number of
provincial city galleries.
Competition wins over the years have included the Rockhampton Prize, The Westfield Prize (3 times), RNA Prize (twice) The Eleanor Schonnel and the Redland
Shire Prizes, Ballymore Rugby Union Club Prize and the Aberdare Purchase Prize.
Harold's entries in the 'by invitation only' Tattersall's Club Prize were accorded the Members' Choice in 1998 and 1999. Over the years he has given a number
of seminars. Several years ago Australian Artist Magazine sponsored him to give a two day teaching demonstration for art lovers at Queensland University.
Recently, Harold has exhibited with success in several competitions. In 2002, he won the Traditional Art Prize at Maleny and the Portrait and also the Pastel
Prize at Caloundra. In 2003, his entries at Maleny won the Traditional Art Prize and the Watercolour Prize. Australian Artist Magazine awarded his entry first place in the December 2005 competition for paintings with the subject matter "Seascapes, Rivers and Lakes".
